President's Perspective

Another holiday season has passed and your HRC officers and board hope everyone had a wonderful season with family and friends, and most importantly wish each and every one of you a healthy and prosperous 2003.

Time seems to be passing by quickly and one half of the HRC social calendar has passed. Here are several items for your consideration:

Elections for officers and board of HRC for 2003-2004 will be here soon. We will have openings for President and two directors, and are looking for candidates willing to allocate a couple hours a month to represent and support the over 900 members of HRC. Previous experience is NOT required. If interested please contact Ed Frick or Stan Plunkett.

We have several events over the next couple months:

GOOD NEWS---Due to the efforts of R. Henzel, E. Frick, and D. Roeber, our club will soon introduce it's very own web site. This has been long anticipated and we will SLOWLY work our way into this new activity.

One last item of note: many of our members have been interested in the status of the Honeywell Volunteers of Arizona. Although some activities of this Honeywell-sponsored organization continue, the absence of a director for the past several months, and the reduction of corporate support has reduced that organization's scope and effectiveness. The HVA office remains at the Hewson building at 11034 N. 23rd DR. HRC has also been affected, to a lesser degree, by the reduced corporate assistance. We will continue to monitor the situation, as we share the same membership database and some support activities with HVA.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the activities planned for the next months.
