The election of new officers and board members is coming up at the Annual Meeting in April. Each year the club officers and 2 of the 6 board members are up for election. If you are interested in helping out your retiree club, consider running for an office or the board. We are always looking for new ideas for activities, so this is the perfect opportunity to contribute your ideas to make this a better club. We meet once a month on the first Tuesday of the month at the Glendale Foothills library except the months of June, July and August. So get involved. You can volunteer plan new events, help at events, and take pictures. If you are good with Microsoft Word, you can help with the editing of THE BRIDGE.
If you are interested in helping out the club, contact one of the following board members on the nominating committee:
Al Boeck 623-566-5808
Shirley Krieger 602-942-4235
Don Peeples 602-548-1904
Sixty Seven Honeywell and Sperry Retirees had a great day at Turf Paradise. Some of the attendees did a good job of picking the winners, but I think the majority of us won a few and lost a few. The luncheon format was change this year to a buffet which was abundant and delicious. Coincidentally, the trainer of the winning horse in the Honeywell/Sperry Race, is the husband of a Sperry Retiree.
We can help Honeywell retirees or surviving spouses with fix-it jobs around the house that you are not good at or are unable to do and prevent these jobs from becoming budget busters. The Fixit Guys are Bob, Dick, Gene, Sam, Perry, Matt, Paul, Ed and Clint.
Call us at this number, (602) 765-4466, and leave a clear message containing job information, your name and telephone number. We probably can help and will get back to you as quickly as practical. We furnish the labor at no cost to you; you furnish the cost of the parts.
The above 8 guys and I are getting older. Getting under that sink or cramped down to get that electrical outlet is a bit more difficult. We do about sixty (60) jobs in a year and wouldn't you like to help? Call the above number if you choose to participate in all our GLORY. Thank you, Clint Langford.
